Taylor Square Apartment
This building had such an interesting history and certainly had many (rather sordid) lives. I wanted to honour that in decorating this small apartment. At the time of planning the interior I had just been to New Orleans, a trip which inspired my aesthetic enormously.
The space itself was absolutely tiny, but I found that the more pieces and paint I put in there, the better it looked. In the first room I stuck to a more Victorian-era palette, but kept many other elements of it relaxed and playful to avoid any stuffiness. In the bedroom I opted for more serene hues, with minimal furniture and just a few carefully-chosen objects as decoration, to make sleeping easier and give the space a more light, feminine and boudoir feel.
